What We Do

 Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) theory is an integrated healing philosophy that originated over five thousand years ago. Included in TCM treatments are acupuncture, herbology, tuina (Chinese massage), moxibustion and cupping. Rona offers all of these services. Central to TCM are the concepts of Qi, or energy flow, and Yin/Yang, or balance of forces in tension.

 

Acupuncture

In the human body, energy flows among organs along particular pathways, or meridians, similar to water flowing through a faucet; if a blockage occurs, illness may result. Acupuncture is a method of stimulating these meridians by inserting fine, solid needles into particular points along the meridians. This treatment assists the Qi (energy) flow and restores the balance of mind, body, and spirit to return the patient to optimal health.

 

 

 

Chinese Herbology

Yin and Yang represent the balance of forces in tension throughout all of nature and in the human body; one simple example is heat and cold. When one force over- or under-balances the other, sickness results.  Chinese herbology incorporates ingredients from all parts of plants—the root, stem, leaf, and flower—as well as natural minerals to restore the patient’s Yin/Yang balance.
