Ronghua Bian (Rona) was born in Tianjin, China, the fourth of five children. As a child, Rona fell in love with the idea of becoming a doctor while visiting her mom as she worked as a doctor at the local hospital. She saw how many people loved and respected her mom for all the help she had given them wanting to following in her mom’s inspiring footsteps, Rona herself became a doctor.
She has earned quite a reputation in China for her great wisdom and sacrificial service in helping many gain the health they so desired.
Rona studied at Tainjin College of Traditional Chinese Medicine to become a specialist in both traditional Chinese and Western Medicine. Rona’s training covers a broad spectrum of areas ranging from gynecology, internal medicine and pharmacology to herbal medicine and acupuncture.
Her experience as a doctor in China is as extensive as her training. After graduating from medical school Rona served as a Doctor of Internal Medicine in inpatient, outpatience and emergency room services - at HeDong Traditional Chinese Medical Hospital for 17 years. During this time, Rona not only served as a physician but also supervised every aspect of the Internal Medicine Department of the hospital. Along with the role of supervisor, Rona was responsible for training over 50 new medical school graduates as they prepared to transition from the theory of the classroom to the reality of treating real patients with serious illnesses in the hospital. After 15 years of working in this capacity Rona was promoted to Chief of Staff of Internal Medicine at the hospital. Along with this promotion came greater responsibility and required more of her in the area of supervision and training. Her direct patient care became limited to more difficult cases other physicians were not comfortable with treating.
As a first rate medical provider Rona is always seeking ways to improve her patient care and provide the very best treatment possible for each of her patients. To do this, Rona has poured herself into research, seeking better ways to treat those under her care in ways consistent with her philosophy of blending the best of eastern and western medicine. Some of that research was published in Tianjin Traditional Chinese Medicine and The Practical Traditional Medicine Journal.
After attending South Baylo University of Oriental Medicine in Los Angeles, Rona received her U.S. acupuncture license and clean needle technique certification in 2002. She later received her Colorado license. She has earned a great reputation in Traditional Chinese Medicine Clinic in Los Angeles and Acupuncture Clinic in Colorado Springs.
Though Rona’s training and experience is extensive and impressive, due to specific requirements for licensure in the United States, Rona’s scope of practice extensively focuses on acupuncture (which includes moxibustion and cupping), herbal medicine and tui na (a form of chiropractic, massage and physical therapy.)
While limited by her license to very specific forms of treatment, with each patient Rona sees, she brings with her a reservoir of wisdom and knowledge enabling her to assess and more accurately diagnose their illness or medical problem and apply a very appropriate and effective treatment that will help put them back on the road to health and wellness as quickly as possible.
